Description
Dog Breed: Siberian Husky (long coat). #A5766148 Meet Aurora , a 4-year-old Siberian Husky with classic, breathtaking beauty - her plush cream coat dusted in smoky black and those striking golden eyes framed with natural “eyeliner” are simply unforgettable. Despite her stunning looks and sweet nature, Aurora has been waiting at the shelter since March, and we truly can’t understand why. She’s a gentle, loving girl who enjoys staying close on walks and leaning in for affection whenever you pause to give her attention. Having already been a devoted mama, it’s finally Aurora’s turn to be cared for, pampered, and loved the way she deserves. She’s curious, graceful, and incredibly attentive - especially if treats are involved - making her both a joy to be around and easy to connect with. This smart, affectionate girl would be a seamless addition to just about any home, just waiting for someone to give her the chance she’s been so patiently hoping for. Breed overview
Siberian Husky
A.K.A.: Husky, Arctic Husky, Chukcha, Chukchi, Chukchi Sled Dog, Sibe, Sibes, Sled Dog, Snow Dog
Overview:
The Siberian Husky is a striking and beloved breed, originating from Northeast Asia where they were bred by the Chukchi people for pulling sleds over long distances in harsh conditions. Physically, they are easily recognizable by their medium size, thick double coat (available in various colors and markings), and often captivating blue or bi-colored eyes. Their temperament is typically friendly, outgoing, and playful, making them generally good with children and other dogs. However, their independent and sometimes stubborn nature, coupled with a strong prey drive, means consistent training and secure containment are essential. While affectionate, their high energy levels and need for significant exercise make them less suitable for sedentary lifestyles or tiny apartments; a house with a securely fenced yard is often preferred. Health-wise, they are generally robust but can be prone to certain conditions like hip and elbow dysplasia and eye problems such as cataracts and progressive retinal atrophy. Overall, a Siberian Husky thrives with active families committed to meeting their exercise and mental stimulation needs.
