Description
Dog Breed: Labrador Retriever (medium coat). Molly is a sweet, friendly young Labrador Retriever with a playful spirit and a loving heart. She can be a little shy and submissive when meeting new people, but once she feels comfortable, her affectionate personality quickly shines through. Molly loves to play and especially enjoys chasing toys. She also enjoys spending time with other dogs and would likely be happy with a canine companion to play with. After she's had some fun, Molly is ready to cuddle up and enjoy some quiet time with her people. As a young dog, Molly is still learning about the world and gaining confidence every day. With patience, encouragement, and continued guidance, she will continue to blossom into a wonderful companion. Molly was born on 8/21/2025, weighs about 48 pounds, and is up to date on vaccinations. She is looking for a loving, inside home where she can continue building confidence, playing with her family, and enjoying plenty of cuddles and affection. *************************************************************************** This pet comes with an implanted 24 PetWatch microchip and free registration into the 24PetWatch pet recovery service. *************************************************************************** This dog is available for adoption at the Humane Society of McCormick County is SC for an adoption fee. Overview:
The Labrador Retriever, a beloved and highly popular breed, originated in Newfoundland, Canada, where they were initially bred to assist fishermen by retrieving nets and stray fish. Physically, they are medium-to-large dogs, known for their strong, athletic build, short, dense, weather-resistant double coat (commonly seen in black, yellow, or chocolate), and their distinctive "otter" tail. Temperamentally, Labs are celebrated for their friendly, outgoing, and good-natured disposition, making them exceptional family companions. Their intelligence and eagerness to please contribute to their trainability, though they do require consistent exercise to prevent boredom and destructive behaviors. While adaptable, their energy levels make them more suited to homes with yards, or highly active families, rather than apartment living, unless daily extensive exercise is guaranteed. Regarding health, Labs can be prone to certain conditions like hip and elbow dysplasia, and some eye conditions, so responsible breeding practices are crucial. Overall, their loyalty, versatility, and affectionate nature firmly establish the Labrador Retriever as a wonderful addition to many households.
