Description
Dog Breed: German Shepherd Dog (short coat). #A5765595 Rudy -2-year-old German Shepherd, brown & black neutered male – 74 lbs on 3/27 -Came in as an owner surrender | URGENT ⚠️ -Microchipped ✅ | Neutered ✅ Rudy is underweight and has been waiting long enough — this boy is urgent and he needs a hero ‍♀️. He is a gentle giant in every sense of the word — sweet, curious, and so treat-motivated that he takes every single one gently from your hand like the most polite boy in the world . He's already housebroken, affectionate, and incredibly receptive to learning — even without any prior commands, he watches you like he's ready for school . Yes, he tries to walk you on the leash instead of the other way around — but that's just Rudy being enthusiastic and hopeful. He has medium energy, calm dogs are recommended as companions, and he is just waiting for someone patient and loving to help him reach his full potential . Rudy came in underweight. He needs nourishment, stability, and love — and in return he will give you everything he has ❤️. Please don't let this sweet boy wait any longer . Overview:
The German Shepherd Dog, a truly iconic breed, originated in Germany in the late 19th century, primarily for herding sheep. They are easily recognizable by their athletic, medium-to-large build, typically weighing between 50-90 pounds, with a distinct double coat that can be black and tan, sable, or solid black. Known for their intelligence and loyalty, German Shepherds possess a remarkably trainable and courageous temperament, making them exceptional working dogs in fields like police and service work. While generally good with families when properly socialized, their high energy levels and need for mental stimulation make them unsuitable for apartment living without significant daily exercise. Prospective owners should be aware of common health concerns such as hip and elbow dysplasia, as well as degenerative myelopathy, underscoring the importance of responsible breeding and regular veterinary care.
