Dog Breed: Hound / Mixed. Available for Adoption: Meet Percy! Meet Percy, a happy, sweet, and affectionate puppy with plenty of kisses to share with his forever family! He has a gentle, easygoing personality and loves being around people. Well-mannered and obedient, Percy is also known to add a little playful "sass talk" around mealtime. Percy enjoys playing with his toys, exploring the outdoors, cuddling with his favorite humans, and chewing on his beloved chew toys. He is friendly, outgoing, and loves everyone he meets. He currently sleeps comfortably in a kennel at night and is making great progress with both crate and potty training. Percy is also piddle-pad trained. He does wonderfully with children, cats, and other dogs, making him a great addition to many types of families. If you're looking for a loving, gentle companion with a sweet personality and a heart full of affection, Percy may be the perfect match for you! He has had 2 vet visits, is neutered, Microchipped, UTD on all vaccinations, had a 4 DX test (testing for Lyme disease and two types of tick-borne illnesses), flea/tick/heartworm prevention (Nexgard Plus), 2 dewormings, and a 2 fecal tests. Adopters will receive all original paperwork, a 14-day health guarantee, a collar, harness, leash, seatbelt lock, and a week's worth of food. We operate on a first-come, first-served basis and are by appointment only. We are located in Mesa near Gilbert/Brown & offer flexible hours for meet-and-greet appointments. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
