Description
Dog Breed: Boxer. 6/10/2026 JJ II is an owner surrender looking for a new home. Hi! My name is JJ II! I am a handsome 5 year old brown and white boy that is an owner surrender due to changes in my family dynamics and they are unable to care for me any longer. I am described as friendly, active, smart, calm, protective, affectionate, and obedient! I do not live with other dogs but it is said that I am dog friendly. I have never lived with a cat so it is uncertain if I am feline friendly. I currently live with two kids (ages 9 and 16 years) and am friendly, gentle, and loving with them! I am house trained, know basic commands, sleep on a dog bed in the living room, and am well behaved! I am used to being alone at times and typically stay calm and relaxed while waiting for someone to come home. When outside I have good behavior and do not dig or attempt to jump fences/gates and am respectful of boundaries and stay where I am supposed to. I am fearful of fireworks and other loud noises and will seek comfort during these times. Some of my favorite things are riding in the car, chewing toys, balls, playing fetch, relaxing with a toy, spending time with the family, being around people, attention, calm environment, and going outside! If you think I would make a great addition to your family, contact the rescue today and give them my name because I am waiting to meet you!

Overview:
The Boxer is a medium-sized, short-haired dog breed of German origin, known for its distinctive appearance and vibrant personality. Physically, Boxers possess a strong, athletic build with a characteristic square head, an undershot jaw, and often a docked tail and cropped ears (though these practices are becoming less common). Their short, glossy coat typically comes in fawn or brindle, often with white markings. Temperamentally, Boxers are renowned for being incredibly loyal, intelligent, and energetic, making them fantastic companions for active families. They thrive on human interaction and can be playful and patient with children, making them excellent family pets. While their energy levels require regular exercise, their adaptability means they can adjust to apartment living if their activity needs are consistently met. However, potential owners should be aware of certain health considerations, including a predisposition to some cancers, heart conditions like cardiomyopathy, and hip dysplasia, underscoring the importance of responsible breeding and regular veterinary check-ups.
