Foster Home Feedback 6/22/26 Foster Feedback: Fritti is one of the sweetest, most loving, gentle dogs we've had the pleasure of fostering. Not only that, but she has a funny personality that keeps us in stitches all the time. It does take her a bit to warm up to new humans, but once she does, her sweet and silly personality comes out in full force. While we don't know anything about her past, we are sure her future is gonna be bright, full of love, and lots of laughs. She is still learning good house manners, so her new furever family will need to be patient and compassionate with this shy girl. She is HIGHLY treat-motivated and always on the hunt for something tasty to eat, so until she learns that food isn't scarce, it is best for her to be kenneled when left alone. She does whine a bit when she first goes into her kennel, but quickly settles in to snooze the day away. At night, she snuggles with us in bed and is learning to wake us up if she needs to go out for a potty break. She does extremely well with her foster siblings (two dogs), but she hasn't been cat-tested yet. (We can easily arrange a test if needed) She walks extremely well on a leash and loves a nice, long sniff walk with her people. Overall, Fritti is an amazing pup and will definitely bring joy and happiness to whoever is lucky enough to snag this sweet little angel. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
