The same is true for these three Boot Babies! Stetson, Frye, and Roper are looking for their forever homes. Meet Roper. Roper is an eager, playful puppy who is ready to roll or cuddle with the older dogs in the home. One of the dogs even tries to sleep with her arm around him! He is handler focused and is currently living with Malinois savvy, older children. He is beginning leash work and can easily be lured into training positions like sit, climb, and down. Like all of the boot babies, he is crate trained and house trained when an appropriate schedule is followed. We have “half-way-up” ears and a fun-0-meter that just doesn’t stop. The name Roper is fitting for this little boy. He is as reliable as the boots he’s named for - built for functionality and comfort. The ones designed for versatility in work. PS Roper loves to snitch his older foster sibling’s muzzle and take off around the house with it. He can turn anything into a game. Can you? Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
