Description
Dog Breed: German Shepherd Dog. LOCATED In West Palm Beach. Kiiba is a sweet, approx. 1.5 energetic young girl who’s still very much in her puppy phase. She’s learning her manners and making steady progress. When she first comes out for her walks, she gets excited and can be a little jumpy, but once she settles in, she walks beautifully. She’s alert and curious, and if something catches her eye — another dog, a lizard, anything interesting — she may give a quick lunge, but she doesn’t pull on the leash. Kiiba loves activity of all kinds: walking, playing, being pet, and just being involved. She would thrive with an active family and with a fenced in yard to explore. She knows “sit” reliably, and with her intelligence and eagerness, she’ll pick up more commands quickly with consistent training. On walks, she’s not a meander-and-sniff type — she prances along like she’s getting her steps in, stopping only when something truly grabs her attention. She’s a fun, bright, affectionate girl who’s ready to learn and eager to be part of a family. Available for foster in the area or adoption. Overview:
The German Shepherd Dog, a truly iconic breed, originated in Germany in the late 19th century, primarily for herding sheep. They are easily recognizable by their athletic, medium-to-large build, typically weighing between 50-90 pounds, with a distinct double coat that can be black and tan, sable, or solid black. Known for their intelligence and loyalty, German Shepherds possess a remarkably trainable and courageous temperament, making them exceptional working dogs in fields like police and service work. While generally good with families when properly socialized, their high energy levels and need for mental stimulation make them unsuitable for apartment living without significant daily exercise. Prospective owners should be aware of common health concerns such as hip and elbow dysplasia, as well as degenerative myelopathy, underscoring the importance of responsible breeding and regular veterinary care.
