Description
Dog Breed: Corgi / Mixed (medium coat). Meet Cheese! Cheese and her brother Mac were found abandoned in the woods in a remote area. They were covered in foxtails and were very underweight. They are both safe and sound in a foster home and doing very well. Cheese has been settling into her foster home over the past few weeks, and she’s proving to be a blend of playful spirit and easy-going companion. During the day, she’s content to relax while her humans work from home, and in the evenings she’s ready for outdoor adventures.Cheese loves interacting with her people and happily follows her foster dog sibling around the house. She’s always up for an outing, whether it’s a neighborhood walk or a beach hike, and she’s becoming a wonderful walking and even running partner. True to her Corgi roots, she likes to stay close and keep an eye on her “herd,” sticking right by your side. One of her funniest quirks: Cheese sometimes seeks the highest point in the room. In her mind, this often means your shoulders, your back, and—on a bold day—an attempted climb toward the top of your head. She's a low rider so it's her way of surveying what's going on.Cheese has met several other dogs and makes friends easily with pups her own size. Larger dogs can feel a bit overwhelming for her right now, but she’s already showing steady progress and growing confidence. She’s sweet, curious, loyal, and ready to find a family who will love her playful personality and inquisitive nature. Cheese would love an active home. She has not been around cats. She is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $525 We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
