Description
Dog Breed: Cattle Dog / Mixed (medium coat). Adoption Fee: $350.00. Hi, I’m Poppins. I’m a 13 week old female Heeler mix that, when full grown, may be around 30-40 lbs. Let’s be honest, we’re all guessing here. I love adventure. I love to play- with toys, with other dogs, with people big or small. Sometimes I can get a little rough with my brothers but I’m getting better. I love to play in the backyard. I’m told that’s where I need to go potty….but I haven’t quite figured that part out. I still have so much to learn but, but like the song says, “In every job that must be done, there is an element of fun. You find the fun and snap! The jobs a game!” I’m so excited to learn and become your best friend! I’m waiting! Apply to meet me today at bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication and let’s make this summer practically perfect in every way!

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
