Description
Dog Breed: Xoloitzcuintle/Mexican Hairless. Meet Dante Hi friends! My name is Dante, and I came all the way from Tijuana, Mexico to find my forever home. My journey has been a little adventurous! Back in April, my two brothers made their way to Minnesota, but I had to stay behind because I had a small cough that needed to clear up before I could travel. Once I was feeling all better, I was ready to make my big move—and guess what? My amazing foster mom was still waiting for me! The only problem was finding a ride… but with lots of coordination and many helpful Angels, I got the chance of a lifetime! I boarded a giant commercial airplane with a flight angel and made my way to Minnesota to start my new life. How cool is that?! Now that I’m here, I’m loving everything about life. I’m spunky, goofy, kind, silly, and super loving—basically just the best boy (at least that’s what my foster mom says ). I’m already potty trained and crate trained, and I come when I’m called! I’m still working on walking on a leash—it can be a little scary—but I’m doing much better with a harness. I love mealtime, treats, bones, and toys! One of my favorite hobbies is entertaining myself by tossing a ball into the air and chasing it around like a goofball. At night, snuggle time is my favorite—I love curling up close to you at bedtime. I even like wearing jammies at night and a shirt during the day since I don’t have much fur, well I don't have any fur and get chilly! I am a little timid when I first meet new people, and I might need a little space and patience to warm up—but once I do, we’ll be best friends forever. Right now, I’m just enjoying being a puppy and learning all about the world. I can’t wait to meet my future family—I promise you’ll have a very special boy in me. Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
