Description
Dog Breed: Hound / Mixed (short coat). Boone SCAS is a 4–5-month-old Red Tick Hound mix who weighs around 35- 40 pounds. Boone came into the shelter with his two siblings (Cedar SCAS and Junebug SCAS, also available for adoption). The man who owned these three sweet dogs was threatening to harm them, so we stepped in to save their lives. All 3 of these babies are all so sweet. Boone is the definition of a lazy Hound dog. He likes to play and make new friends. But at the end of the day, the one thing he loves most is to crawl into a big comfy bed and take a nap. All it would take is one good nap on a nice sofa and this boy would love you forever! He has the biggest, cutest puppy dog eyes, and we assure you it would be hard to tell this little love “No”. Please fill out an application at .ehrdogs and give this loving boy the wonderful home he deserves. He is neutered and fully vetted and can't wait to be part of your family! Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
