Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed. I am Guppy! Hello! I am a beautiful fawn colored girl who maybe has some pittie mixed with everything else. I am a blend of everything good and right. My birthday is 3-7-26 which means I'm on the young side so I am still living in foster care. My foster mama thinks I'm the prettiest puppy ever and there are so many oohs and ahhs when everyone meets me that I bet she's right on the money. When you adopt me, you are adopting a gorgeous puppy who will grow into a smashingly beautiful little lady of a dog. I love playing with my pup friends. We horse around, play toys, wrestle with each other. Lots of fun! I also sometimes enjoy a peaceful rest all by myself. I like to be part of the group and I know how to be independent. Best of both worlds you get in me! I have puppy shots but the rest of my procedures will come later and Desert Haven will help my adopter get them done (spay, rabies vaccination, more puppy shots, and my microchip). They believe in making sure we are healthy as well as happy! My happiness overflows all over my foster home and I'm ready for it to flow into your home! Love, Guppy

A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
