Description
Dog Breed: German Shepherd Dog / Labrador Retriever / Mixed. Jack is a 9-week-old Lab mix with a short tan-and-black coat, soulful eyes, and an adorable expressive face that will melt your heart. At approximately 7 pounds now, he's expected to grow into a medium-sized dog, making him the perfect companion for adventures, cuddles, and everything in between. This sweet boy has a wonderfully balanced personality. Jack is playful and curious when it's time for fun, but he also knows how to settle down and enjoy a cozy nap. One of his favorite things is exploring the world through his nose—on walks, you can practically see the moment he catches an interesting scent and decides he needs to investigate! He's smart, confident, affectionate, and always eager to see what comes next. Despite being rescued while wandering in the woods, Jack adjusted to foster life immediately. He popped right out of his travel crate, made himself at home, and has been happily embracing life ever since. He's friendly with everyone he meets, including other dogs and children of various ages. Like most puppies, he's currently in his playful nibbling stage, so young children should be supervised as he continues learning puppy manners. Jack enjoys squeaky toys, chew treats, puzzle toys that challenge his clever mind, and playing with his littermates. He sleeps through the night in his crate, transitions easily from playtime to downtime, and quietly waits for his foster family to wake up in the morning. He's currently working on house training and is doing well using potty pads. Jack would thrive with a family that can provide both physical activity and mental enrichment. He loves walks, playtime, and learning new things, but he's equally happy curling up for a long puppy nap after a busy day. Jack is up to date on age-appropriate veterinary care and is scheduled to be neutered on July 18. His adopter will receive information regarding his appointment and any follow-up care needed. If you're looking for a confident, cuddly, intelligent puppy with a curious spirit and a heart full of love, Jack may be the perfect addition to your family. Come meet this handsome little chap—you'll quickly see why everyone falls in love with him! If you are interested in Jack, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - pethavenmn/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/ The adoption fee is $550. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant (including registration). Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%. However, we will consider up to 250 miles if the foster agrees to travel requirements and staff approval.

Breed overview
Overview:
The Sheprador, a popular crossbreed resulting from the union of a German Shepherd Dog and a Labrador Retriever, embodies many desirable traits from both parent breeds. Originating from designer breed efforts to combine the intelligence of the German Shepherd with the Labrador's friendly disposition, these dogs typically boast a medium to large build with a dense, weather-resistant coat that can range in color. Physically, they often exhibit the Shepherd’s strong bone structure and the Lab’s kind eyes. Temperamentally, Shepradors are generally intelligent, loyal, and trainable, making them excellent companions for active families. They thrive on human interaction and do best in homes with a yard, as their energy levels make apartment living challenging without significant daily exercise. While generally healthy, potential health considerations include hip and elbow dysplasia, common to both parent breeds, and eye conditions. Early socialization and consistent training are key to fostering a well-adjusted Sheprador.
