Description
Dog Breed: Unknown breed. Molly is a sweet 16-month-old female dog. Due to an upcoming relocation, we are having to make the difficult decision to rehome her. We have exhausted all independent rehoming websites and options on our own, which is why we are reaching out to you for guidance. Molly is a fun, energetic "cuddle bug" who thrives around people and loves playing with kids. She is highly affectionate and a fantastic family companion. Note on dog socialization: While Molly is incredibly loving with humans, she does experience aggression/reactivity around other dogs, so she needs to be the only pet in the home. She originally came from the Atlanta Humane Society as a puppy, and we want to ensure she safely finds the right environment. She is current with all vaccines and visits VCA Roswell. **** Breed: Black Mouth Cur **** Pet Link: .nokillnetwork/adoption/pet_detail.php?petid=2199298&flag=1

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
