Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. Don't let his tiny size fool you, Bing Bong has enough charm packed into his 7.5 pound frame to light up an entire room. This adorable 6 year old Terrier mix is settling into foster care and proving that middle aged dogs really are the best kept secret in rescue. Past the puppy antics but still full of life, Bing Bong is the perfect companion! So far, he's shown himself to be a big fan of people and enjoys making canine friends too. As he continues to decompress, we're getting to watch his personality blossom more each day in his foster home after arriving from the shelter. Bing Bong does have chronic dry eye that requires lifelong medication and daily eye care. But this little guy takes it all in stride and is ready to trade medical appointments for belly rubs, cozy beds, and a family to call his own.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
