Description
Dog Breed: Alaskan Malamute / Husky / Mixed (long coat). Adoption Fee: $150. Meet Ollie, a handsome 5-year-old Malamute/Husky blend who is officially ready to find his next best home! Ollie is looking for a new family as his previous owner is no longer able to house him in their current living situation. They would love to find him the space and lifestyle he truly deserves. True to his breed heritage, this stunning boy absolutely loves the outdoors and is would enjoy a home with a large, securely fenced yard to explore. Ollie recently lived successfully with two other large-breed dogs, meaning he may get along wonderfully with the right canine companions, and he is already accustomed to spending time in a kennel when left unsupervised. Because he is an Arctic mix, Ollie will require regular grooming to maintain his beautiful coat and continued training to help him keep blooming into the great dog he is. He is already neutered, microchipped, up-to-date on all his vaccinations, and completely ready to start his next great adventure. We will continue to update his profile as we get to know him even better, but you can contact us today to meet this wonderful boy!

Breed overview
Overview:
The Alusky, a captivating hybrid of the Alaskan Malamute and Siberian Husky, originated from the desire to blend the best traits of these powerful Arctic breeds. Physically, they are medium to large dogs, boasting a thick double coat that comes in a variety of colors and often features the striking blue or bi-colored eyes inherited from the Husky, alongside the sturdy build of the Malamute. Temperamentally, Aluskys are known for being intelligent, energetic, and loyal. They thrive on human companionship and require significant exercise and mental stimulation to prevent boredom and destructive behaviors. While generally good with families, their high energy levels and strong prey drive mean they are less suited for apartment living and benefit from a secure yard. Potential owners should be aware of common health concerns like hip and elbow dysplasia and eye conditions, making responsible breeding and regular veterinary check-ups essential for a healthy companion.
