Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed (medium coat). Sometimes sideways, sometimes not, but Tilly is always having the time of her life! You see, Tilly has some challenges that cause her to be wobbly. Our veterinary team suspects these symptoms are the result of an illness she had as a puppy, which led to permanent changes to her brain. Tillyâs coordination can vary from moment to moment, but Tillyâs happy personality and love of life never falters. Tilly is about 1 year old and 40lbs. Sheâs slowly mastering her âsit,â practicing her leash walking skills, and showing everyone that sheâs a happy dog. Tilly also loves spending time with her dog friends here at the shelter and is always ready for playtime. Tilly is looking for a special person who sees beyond her wobbles and recognizes the sweet, silly, loving dog she is. Tilly may do things a little differently and need some additional support and patience in her future home, but she has so much love and joy to share. Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
