Description
Dog Breed: Poodle (Miniature) / Shih Tzu / Mixed (medium coat). Meet Henny! Henny is a super sweet, calm girl who is looking for a forever family to love her the way she deserves. She had been with her family since she was a puppy, but sadly, once children came along and life became busier, there was no longer a place for her. It is truly heartbreaking because Henny would never give up on the people she loves. Henny is a 5-year-old Shih Tzu/Poodle mix weighing 25 pounds. She has beautiful, soft black fur with the cutest little white patch under her chin. She is house trained, crate trained, and walks wonderfully on a leash. She loves car rides and adventures, even if it's just a trip through the drive-thru for a pup cup. Henny deserves a family who will cherish her for the rest of her life and make her a true member of the family. She is the kind of dog who will stand by your side through everything, offering unconditional love, companionship, and loyalty. She would love a family that understands that dogs are a lifelong commitment and that they deserve to be loved through every stage of life. Henny is spayed, current on her vaccinations, and microchipped. She will be heartworm tested this week, but she has always been kept on heartworm prevention. If you're looking for a new best friend and feel like your life or family is missing something special, Henny would love to meet you. She promises to fill your days with love and be your faithful companion forever. If you would like to meet sweet Henny, please complete an application on the Legacy Humane Society website and her foster mom will be in touch. ❤️ Henny is ready to find the family she has always deserved. ❤️ We do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Therefore, if you are interested in adopting from LHS, please complete an online application at legacyhumanesociety/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ and we will contact you asap about the status of your application.

Breed overview
Overview:
The Shih-Poo is a charming designer breed, a delightful cross between the gentle Shih Tzu and the intelligent Miniature Poodle, typically originating from breeders seeking to combine the best traits of both. These small companion dogs usually boast a soft, wavy to curly coat that is often low-shedding, making them a popular choice for individuals with allergies. Physically, they exhibit a compact build, expressive eyes, and come in a variety of colors. In terms of temperament, Shih-Poos are generally affectionate, playful, and highly adaptable, making them excellent family pets and well-suited for apartment living due to their moderate exercise needs. They thrive on human companionship and can be quite trainable with positive reinforcement. While generally robust, potential health considerations include issues common to their parent breeds, such as patellar luxation, eye conditions, and dental problems, underscoring the importance of responsible breeding and regular veterinary care.
