Description
Dog Breed: Boxer. 6/16/2026 Jar Jar is an owner surrender looking for a new home. Hi! My name is Jar Jar! I am a 1 year old handsome fawn boy that is an owner surrender due to my family living in an apartment, family growing, and I am needing more space to play and run around. I am described as friendly, active, smart, playful, and affectionate! I currently live with a Schnauzer and we do not always get along, so a proper meet and greet would be encouraged. I have never lived with a cat but I have had exposure to them and am fine. There are no children in my home so a proper introduction to them would be needed. I love greeting new people by jumping on them and not wanting to stop but I mean no harm. I am house trained, crate trained, and know basic commands! When I am let out of my kennel I jump very high and will nip out of excitement. At night I sleep next to the human's bed and if they must be away, I am anxious. When outside I have good behavior and do not dig. Some of my favorite things are riding in the car, making squishy toys magically explode, chewing on bones, and attention! If you think I would make a great addition to your home, contact the rescue today and give them my name because I am waiting to meet you!

Overview:
The Boxer is a medium-sized, short-haired dog breed of German origin, known for its distinctive appearance and vibrant personality. Physically, Boxers possess a strong, athletic build with a characteristic square head, an undershot jaw, and often a docked tail and cropped ears (though these practices are becoming less common). Their short, glossy coat typically comes in fawn or brindle, often with white markings. Temperamentally, Boxers are renowned for being incredibly loyal, intelligent, and energetic, making them fantastic companions for active families. They thrive on human interaction and can be playful and patient with children, making them excellent family pets. While their energy levels require regular exercise, their adaptability means they can adjust to apartment living if their activity needs are consistently met. However, potential owners should be aware of certain health considerations, including a predisposition to some cancers, heart conditions like cardiomyopathy, and hip dysplasia, underscoring the importance of responsible breeding and regular veterinary check-ups.
