Description
Dog Breed: Cane Corso Mastiff. Meet Ares! Ares is a handsome 6-month-old Cane Corso puppy with a big heart and the cutest personality. He already knows sit, down, wait, paw, and is doing well on leash. He is very food motivated, crate trained, and loves his crate so much that he runs right in at bedtime. Ares is affectionate, silly, and full of puppy charm. He loves rolling on his back for pets, giving kisses, shaking his toys, playing in water, and following his people around like a true Velcro dog. He has the sweetest little quirks, like covering his face with his paw and sometimes laying down while he eats. Like any young Corso, Ares is still learning manners and will need continued training, structure, socialization, and proper introductions. He has done well with other dogs and people when introduced correctly, and he would do best in a Cane Corso or guardian breed experienced home. Ares is a very loved boy, but due to a family member’s medical situation, his family knows he needs the right placement where he can continue to grow and thrive. Apply through AZ Mastiff Rescue

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
