She was recently returned because her previous ownerâs travel schedule no longer allowed them to give her the time and attention she deserves.Sage absolutely loves attention and being with her people. She can be a little shy when meeting new people or exploring unfamiliar places, but once she feels comfortable, her affectionate personality shines through. Give her a little patience, and you'll quickly discover a loving, loyal companion who enjoys pets, praise, and spending quality time with her favorite humans.At just 10 months old, Sage has already proven to be a wonderful companion. She does well with children, other dogs, and cats. She is also crate trained and potty trained, making her an easy addition to many homes. She has the perfect balance of youthful energy and good manners, and she is eager to continue learning and growing with her new family.Sage is ready to find a home where she can be included in everyday life, showered with affection, and given the love she so happily returns. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
