Description
Dog Breed: Australian Shepherd / Golden Retriever / Mixed. Meet Adella! Adella is a 4‑month‑old Golden Retriever and Australian Shepherd mix with a heart as big as her puppy paws. While the Adella from The Little Mermaid might be a little boy‑crazy, our Adella is completely people‑crazy — she adores anyone and everyone she meets. This sweet girl is the definition of a social butterfly. Her siblings may wrestle and play for hours, but Adella prefers to get her wiggles out and then settle in with the humans for cuddles, attention, and companionship. She’s happiest when she’s near her people. Adella is still working on her housetraining and basic obedience, but she’s young, eager, and ready to learn with a patient family who can guide her as she grows. Thanks to her age and gentle nature, she does well with kids, cats, and other dogs. Adella is looking for a loving home where she can continue to grow, learn, and be the affectionate, people‑loving pup she was born to be. Adella's adoption fee is $300, which helps support their medical care and preparation for adoption. Please note: All of our animals are spayed/neutered and up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations. Each pet also receives a behavioral assessment to help us better understand the type of home they may thrive in. However, it’s important to remember that the results may not fully reflect an animal’s true personality, as shelter and foster environments can be stressful. If you are interested in meeting any of our animals, we encourage you to first visit our website and submit an adoption application: .acskc/adopt-1 Once your adoption application has been approved, we will call you to set up an appointment to meet with the pet! We welcome adopters from out of state to apply! _ When it comes to our pets, we're all-inclusive! Breed overview
Overview:
The Australian Retriever, a delightful hybrid of the Australian Shepherd and Golden Retriever, is a relatively new designer breed gaining popularity for its winning combination of traits. Originating in the United States, this intelligent and eager-to-please dog typically sports a medium-length, often wavy or feathered coat in a variety of colors, including merle, black, and various shades of gold or red. Physically, they are well-proportioned, often inheriting the Golden's friendly expression with the Aussie's alert eyes. Temperament-wise, they are renowned for being loyal, affectionate, and highly trainable, making them excellent companions for active families. While their energy levels and need for mental stimulation make them better suited for houses with yards rather than small apartments, their adaptability and gentle nature usually make them wonderful with children and other pets. Potential health considerations can include those common to their parent breeds, such as hip and elbow dysplasia, and certain eye conditions, highlighting the importance of responsible breeding practices.
