Description
Dog Breed: Unknown breed. Great dog, 4yo. He has a heart of gold, we just unfortunately have to give him up due to our upcoming living situation. We raised him since he was a puppy, he is potty trained, cage trained, partial leash trained. He has a ton of energy he loves to run around in circles, loves to talk, has a ton of life still left. No bite history, shots all current, gets along with kids, just acts skittish with everyone at first. We would love for him to go to a home he can be free in, as long as he is as loved as we loved him. We do have a large metal cage and his dog food currently that will go with him. We would really rather avoid taking him to any shelter if theres a chance he may go to a deserving home. **** Breed: Mix breed husky **** Pet Link: .nokillnetwork/adoption/pet_detail.php?petid=2199495&flag=1

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
