Description

Dog Breed: Dachshund (short coat). Aiden Bean is estimated to be 10 years old, and this absolute angel is officially on the glow-up of a lifetime! Previously underweight, Aiden has blossomed into a healthy 13 pounds of pure sweetness. To know Aiden is to love him. He is quite literally the sweetest dog ever, with a heart of gold and a major love for his humans. He latches on to people instantly and just wants a companion by his side all day and night. Because he prefers to be right where the action is and doesn't like being crated, he is looking for a home where someone is around more often. He is incredibly well-mannered, super easygoing, and goes absolutely everywhere with his fosters. He might even be the only dog in the world who is genuinely happy to see the vet—he wags his tail the entire time he's at the office! Aiden recently underwent a major dental procedure and had 22 teeth removed, but you’d never know it by looking at him! He bounced back like a champ and still maintains a fantastic, voracious appetite. When he isn't enjoying a meal, he loves to snuggle up in warm blankets, nap the day away, and simply be your shadow. He gets along beautifully with everyone—including kids, cats, and dogs of all sizes. He is truly the ultimate, low-maintenance cuddle munchkin! Please see FAQs for current adoption fees. Overview:

The Dachshund, affectionately known as the "wiener dog," is a fascinating breed originating in Germany, primarily bred to hunt badgers and other burrowing animals. Their most distinctive physical characteristic is their long, low-slung body and short, muscular legs, a feature perfectly adapted for tunneling. They come in three coat types – smooth, longhaired, and wirehaired – and various sizes, from miniature to standard. Temperamentally, Dachshunds are known for being courageous, curious, and often quite playful, with a surprising amount of energy. While they are intelligent, their independent nature can make training a delightful challenge. Their small size and relatively low exercise requirements make them well-suited for apartment living, and they can be wonderful companions for families, though early socialization is key, especially with children and other pets. Regarding health, their unique body shape predisposes them to intervertebral disc disease (IVDD), so careful handling and weight management are crucial.
