Description
Dog Breed: Unknown breed. Adoption Fee: 185.00. Let me tell you why this girl deserves to be someone's forever best friend. 1. At not even a year old, she's got lots of years ahead of her. 2. At almost 11 months old, the puppy crazies are behind her. She's happy in her crate, sleeps through the night, AND she's potty trained. 3. She's medium- to low-energy. If squeezing in time for lots of walks sounds like a drag, Evie won't mind. She mostly likes to sniff, and doesn't care if walks are short. 4. Her coat is super low maintenance. She can be bathed at home easily. She's a minimal shedder. No brushing required. 5. Her nails are clear/white which makes them a breeze to maintain yourself. She even lets me dremmel them. 6. She's right around 26-28 pounds, and this is as big as she'll get. No guesswork! Small enough to be manageable, big enough to have fun with. 7. She bonds strongly to her caretakers, but she's not overly clingy. 8. She's met and gotten along with dozens of dogs - bigger, smaller, older, younger, males and females. 9. She's heartworm NEGATIVE. 10. She's super photogenic and will look precious on your holiday cards! *She does have an affinity for socks, so Evie kindly requests any potential adopters be diligent about putting their dirty clothes in the hamper. She doesn't consume them, but she will, uh, update them with new holes.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
