Poppy is a 4-year-old, 34-pound Beagle/Chihuahua mix with a heart full of love and a tail that never stops wagging! This sweet, affectionate girl is looking for a forever home where she can be part of the family and share her joyful personality. Poppy loves people and gets along wonderfully with women, men, and children of all ages. She is also friendly with other dogs and enjoys making new canine friends. While she hasn't been around cats, her easygoing nature shines through in most situations. An active and playful girl, Poppy loves going for walks, playing fetch, and chasing tennis balls (or really any ball she can find!). She would be thrilled to join an active family that enjoys outdoor adventures and playtime. After she's had her fun, she's more than happy to curl up next to her favorite person for some cuddles. Poppy knows basic commands like "sit" and "stay" and responds well most of the time. She may benefit from a little additional training, but she's eager to please and learns quickly. She can be sensitive to sudden noises and may startle easily, so she'll do best with a patient family who can help build her confidence. One of Poppy's most endearing qualities is how quickly she bonds with her people. She's incredibly loyal, loves affection, and adapts well to new environments. When someone comes home, she'll happily announce their arrival with a few barks before settling right back down once she realizes it's a friend. If you're looking for a sweet, energetic companion who loves adventures, cuddles, and being by your side, Poppy may be the perfect match for you. She is spayed, microchipped, and up-to-date on all her vaccines. Her adoption fee is $300. All Second Chance Dog Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, are up to date on vaccines and have microchips prior to adoption. Adoption fees vary depending on age of dog. Fees help Second Chance Dog Rescue cover spay/neuter costs, vaccinations, medical treatments, food and supplies. Please go to .secondchancedogrescue and complete an application today! All dogs live in private foster homes until they are adopted.

Breed overview
Overview:
The Cheagle is an endearing hybrid, resulting from a cross between a Beagle and a Chihuahua, offering a unique blend of both parent breeds. Originating from designer breed initiatives, Cheagles typically inherit the smaller stature of the Chihuahua with the slightly more robust build of the Beagle. Their physical appearance is quite variable, ranging from short to medium coats, often in colors like black, tan, white, or tricolor, and their ears can be erect or floppy. Temperament-wise, they are generally described as affectionate, playful, and often energetic, making them suitable companions for families or individuals. Their adaptable size makes them well-suited for apartment living, provided they receive regular exercise and mental stimulation. While generally healthy, potential health considerations include those common to their parent breeds, such as patellar luxation, dental issues, and intervertebral disc disease, making responsible breeding and veterinary care essential for a long and happy life.
