Description

Dog Breed: German Shepherd Dog / Mixed. Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure Peggy #1 finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 72 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails) . Peggy | 4.5 month old Hound Mix | Big, goofy puppy who lives for belly rubs Peggy is a 4.5-month-old Hound mix weighing around 25–30 pounds and growing fast into a big, lovable companion. She can be a little timid when first meeting new people or dogs, but warms up quickly and turns into a playful, affectionate, and silly girl who wants to be everyone’s best friend. She is about 75% house trained on a consistent routine and is working on using bells at the door. Peggy is crate trained and does well when left alone for a few hours, settling in after a short period of whining and then napping quietly. She walks nicely on leash, knows commands like sit, down, come, and no, and responds well to positive reinforcement. Peggy has a medium energy level and loves toys, puzzles, and playtime—especially anything involving treats. Like any young puppy, she is still working on jumping, play biting, and counter surfing, but she is eager to learn and improves with consistency and structure. Her personality is what really makes her special—Peggy is goofy, uncoordinated, and endlessly entertaining. She loves to flop over for belly rubs, melt into your arms when picked up, and will happily turn just about anything into a toy if given the chance. Peggy would do best in a home with a fenced yard since she prefers to potty off leash, and with an adopter committed to continued training using a calm, positive approach. She would love another dog to play with but would also thrive soaking up all the attention on her own. Peggy is a truly special puppy who will bring a lot of laughter and love to her forever home. If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives! A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you. The adoption fee for this pet is $475 (includes a $50 refundable puppy training deposit). Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking here . Please give us 72 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Please email dogsarrcolorado for more information, as we can't accept calls. PLEASE NOTE: The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter. Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets. Here is some interesting info on breed identification: arrcolorado/category/puppy-dog-tips/ Our adoption process is: 1. Fill out our Adoption Application online. We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet. 2. Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member!
