Dog Breed: Cattle Dog / Mixed. Meet Domino! Everyone needs a Domino in their life. Domino is a 7.5 month-old pup who we believe is a mix of Border Collie and terrier. He's the perfect combination of playful energy and sweet affection. Domino loves to run, wrestle, and play, so he'd thrive in a home with another friendly, confident dog who can be both his playmate and role model. Having a canine companion helps him feel more secure and brings out his fun-loving personality. When meeting new people, Domino can be a little cautious and takes time to warm up. But once you've earned his trust, you will discover the most loyal little shadow - a total cuddle bug who loves nothing more than being close to his people. Domino is potty trained and knows that outside is the place to go. Like any 7.5-month-old puppy, though, he's still learning his manners and will need a family committed to continuing his training and helping him grow into the amazing dog he's meant to be. Domino is looking for a patient family who understands that the best relationships take time to build. If you're willing to let him settle in at his own pace, he'll reward you with endless love, snuggles, and companionship. Could Domino be the missing piece in your family? Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. His adoption fee is $200. Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
