Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. NAME: Petey STATS: Male, Terrier Mix, 2 years, 10 lbs. TEMPERAMENT: Friendly. Playful, but not overly so. SKILLS Doing great with potty training. Crate trained. Leash trained. Good with dogs. Likes walks, but not great for hiking. Has not been exposed to children. Has not been exposed to cats. Would LOVE basic training MORE ABOUT ME: Likes walks. Likes playing with other dogs. ONE LAST THING: Meet this little black and white bundle of love! Petey may be small in size - he only weighs 10 lbs - but he has a huge heart with lots of love to give. With an adorable face and a charming personality, Petey is ready to find his forever home. Petey is the perfect level of energy; he's up for fun chasing a ball, but also enjoys just being your little shadow around the house. He's super smart (learned the doggy door in 2 minutes flat) and brave. Petey does very well in his crate and isn't super barky, so we think he'd make a good apartment dog. Terriers are known for being smart, loyal and affectionate - and this one is no exception. If you're looking for a sweet, affectionate dog with a big personality packed into a tiny body, Petey may be your perfect match! Now all Wilma needs is a family of her own—a place where she can continue to grow, play, and be loved. If you're looking for a loyal companion with a gentle spirit and a remarkable story, Wilma Flintstone may be the perfect addition to your family.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
