Dog Breed: Hound / Mixed (short coat). Supporters and Recurring Giving Donors will be put on our VIP Application List Adoption Costs and other important information. Due to no fault of his own, Rye is looking for his forever home. Rye is a 2.5 year old neutered Hound mix. Fully vetted. He has spent the last year going to daycare and does really well with other dogs. Rye loves long walks on the beach or Netflix and chill on rainy days. His well mannered personality makes him a daycare favorite. He comes w/ strong obedience skills but that doesn’t stop him from his love nips for cats. NO CATS. Non negotiable. He lived with younger children and foster stated she had no concerns at all. He does need a daily medication. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics.
