Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. Currently located at our Chrisney, IN location Meet Savva! Savva is a beautiful shepherd mix who is just over 2 years old and weighs around 45 pounds. This sweet girl can be a little timid when meeting new people, but give her a little time and patience, and you'll quickly discover what a loving cuddle bug she truly is. Once Savva feels comfortable, she loves being close to her people and soaking up all the affection she can get. She has a gentle nature and does well with both other dogs and children, making her a wonderful companion for many different types of families. Submit an adoption application today at ITVrescue and come meet this sweet girl! All of our dogs are examined by a veterinarian, given age-appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, microchipped, spayed or neutered, heartworm tested and treated, if necessary.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
