Description
Dog Breed: American Staffordshire Terrier. Meet Bronx a 1 year old staffie mix who came to us as a stray. Bronx is so sweet we cant imagine why no one came to get reclaim him. He is shy at first but opens up quickly, especially on his walks. Bronx is a happy go lucky guy who would love the affection of an entire family. Grab a rope and a squeak toy and head outside with this guy and you will make his whole day. Bronx likes dogs but being he has a shy personality he is a little nervous at first but with a playful dog who is gentle he opens up quickly. We did try to find Bronx's owners and while looking we found a person who knew where he came from and said he once lived with 6 kids and multiple other pets including cats. So this just tells us that Bronx must be use to a little chaos! Come meet Bronx, he is so sweet and deserves a loving home where he will get all the attention from people who love him! If you cant adopt come take him for a walk, he may just change your mind.Give the shelter a call at (574) 267-3008 or email them at infoawlwarsaw if you have any questions about me! Overview:
The American Staffordshire Terrier, often affectionately called an "AmStaff," is a breed with a fascinating history, originating in 19th-century England and later refined in the United States. Physically, they are medium-sized, muscular, and agile dogs, known for their powerful build and distinctive wide smile. Their short, stiff coat comes in a variety of colors and patterns. In terms of temperament, AmStaffs are generally intelligent, confident, and highly loyal to their families. They possess a strong desire to please and can be quite affectionate. While they can make excellent family companions and often get along well with children, early socialization and consistent training are crucial due to their strength and inherent protective instincts. They are adaptable and can thrive in various living situations, including apartments, as long as they receive adequate daily exercise and mental stimulation. Health-wise, they are generally robust, but some individuals may be prone to hip and elbow dysplasia, as well as certain heart conditions.
