Anaya is a charming and affectionate dog with a moderate energy level and a playful spirit that will brighten your days. She loves treats and affection, making her highly motivated and easy to engage during training sessions. Anaya walks excellently on a leash and knows basic commands well, though she could benefit from some continued obedience practice to refine her skills. She is potty trained and kennel trained, showing great manners and adaptability. This sweet girl enjoys playing with toys and is curious and independent, yet she also seeks out human interaction and loves to be close to her peopleâshe truly wants to be your lap dog! While Anaya is dog selective and prefers slow introductions, she has shown good behavior with both male and female dogs when properly introduced. She does not like dogs invading her personal space but is not reactive when going out. Anaya would thrive in a home that offers consistent training, plenty of love, and opportunities for exercise and mental stimulation. She is especially good with women and would do best with adopters who understand her need for respectful dog-to-dog interactions. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
