Description
Dog Breed: German Shepherd Dog (medium coat). Age: 6 Years Sex: Male Size: Medium to Large Good With Dogs: Yes Good With Cats: No Good With Children: Yes If you’re looking for a handsome, active, and striking looking German Shepherd with a big heart and a beautiful sable coat, meet Vader. This handsome, full bred German Shepherd could be just what you are looking for. Rescued at just 8 months old from a difficult situation, Vader has been a cherished family member ever since. He’s a gentle, friendly boy who loves people, including kids, and gets along well with other dogs. He’s never aggressive and quickly becomes affectionate and devoted once he knows you. Vader is an active, energetic guy who thrives on having room to move. He’s a big boy but he’s always sweet-natured. Unfortunately, his family has moved to a smaller yard and is welcoming a second baby this winter, so they’ve made the tough but loving decision that he needs a home with more space where he can truly flourish. He is healthy and ready to give his full loyalty and love to his new people. Vader would be an excellent fit for an experienced family with a securely fenced yard who understands big, active German Shepherds. A home with older children or teens would be ideal so he has plenty of room to zoom without any worries. Vader is eager to become your devoted companion, adventure buddy, and lifelong best friend. If you have the space and experience to welcome this wonderful boy, he’s ready to bring joy and protection to your home. Overview:
The German Shepherd Dog, a truly iconic breed, originated in Germany in the late 19th century, primarily for herding sheep. They are easily recognizable by their athletic, medium-to-large build, typically weighing between 50-90 pounds, with a distinct double coat that can be black and tan, sable, or solid black. Known for their intelligence and loyalty, German Shepherds possess a remarkably trainable and courageous temperament, making them exceptional working dogs in fields like police and service work. While generally good with families when properly socialized, their high energy levels and need for mental stimulation make them unsuitable for apartment living without significant daily exercise. Prospective owners should be aware of common health concerns such as hip and elbow dysplasia, as well as degenerative myelopathy, underscoring the importance of responsible breeding and regular veterinary care.
