Description
Dog Breed: Rottweiler. Adoption Fee: 500. Meet Lady Lady is a beautiful, intelligent Rottweiler with a playful spirit and a heart that's waiting for the right family to earn her trust. Like many working breeds, she thrives when she has structure, routine, and a job to do. She is looking for an experienced home that understands the Rottweiler breed and is committed to continuing her training and helping her build confidence. Lady's Favorite Things If it involves play, Lady is all in! She absolutely loves her Jolly Ball, playing tug-of-war with a rope toy, chasing tennis balls, and showing off her impressive zoomies around the yard. She also enjoys hunting rabbits, soaking up the sunshine, and spending as much time outdoors as possible. A securely fenced yard is a must for Lady. She loves exploring outside and benefits tremendously from daily exercise. Regular walks help keep both her body and mind happy. She walks nicely on a leash, though she occasionally likes to test the rules—typical Rottweiler behavior! She enjoys stopping to sniff along the way after being given permission, making walks enjoyable for both her and her person. Lady is also a fantastic travel companion and loves going for car rides. The Home She's Looking For Lady forms incredibly strong bonds with the people she trusts. She especially adores children who respect her space and enjoy playing with her. She has a wonderful relationship with an 11-year-old in her current home, who has become "her puppy" and favorite playmate. She would do best with a family where everyone is committed to providing consistent leadership and clear expectations. Rottweilers are intelligent, confident dogs who thrive with structure, and Lady is no exception. Other Pets Lady currently lives successfully with a smaller dog after taking time to establish boundaries. She may enjoy having a canine companion, especially one closer to her size who would enjoy wrestling and playing. Careful introductions will be important. Overview:
The Rottweiler is a powerful and intelligent breed, originating in Germany where they were primarily used to drive cattle and guard property. Physically, they are robust dogs, instantly recognizable by their medium-large size, strong build, and striking black coat with distinct tan markings, particularly on the muzzle, chest, and legs. Their temperament, when properly socialized and trained, is one of unwavering loyalty and confidence; they are known for being calm and courageous, making them excellent guardians. While generally good with children within their own family, their protective instincts mean they require supervision with strangers. Due to their size and need for regular exercise and mental stimulation, Rottweilers are generally not ideal for apartment living and thrive in homes with secure yards. Health-wise, they can be predisposed to conditions such as hip and elbow dysplasia, as well as certain heart conditions, necessitating responsible breeding practices and regular veterinary check-ups.
