Terrier mix with a fun-loving personality and a heart full of love. This spunky, athletic little guy enjoys staying close to his people and is happiest when he's part of whatever you're doing, whether that's curling up on your lap while you work, playing a game of chase around the house, or snuggling under the covers at bedtime. Digby gets along well with other dogs and is mostly potty trained, with only the occasional accident. He walks fairly well on leash and continues to build his confidence, as unfamiliar outdoor noises can sometimes startle him. He's also crate trained and settles in nicely when you're away after a brief period of whining. Whether you live in a house or an apartment, Digby is an adaptable companion who will fit right into your routine. He's the perfect mix of playful energy and affectionate cuddles and is ready to find a family to call his own. Digby is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on his vaccinations. His adoption fee is $300. All Second Chance Dog Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, are up to date on vaccines and have microchips prior to adoption. Adoption fees vary depending on age of dog. Fees help Second Chance Dog Rescue cover spay/neuter costs, vaccinations, medical treatments, food and supplies. Please go to .secondchancedogrescue and complete an application today! All dogs live in private foster homes until they are adopted.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
