Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (medium coat). Wesley: The Ultimate Couch Companion Wesley is a calm, gentle boy who's looking for a cozy spot to call home. At around 7 years old, he's the perfect laid-back companion, content to spend most of his day snoozing on the couch or sunbathing in the backyard. Wesley gets along well with other dogs, did great in the car, and doesn't react to cats. He was also very sweet with a volunteer's 10-year-old daughter, showing just how kind and easygoing he truly is. He sleeps soundly through the night in his crate, is not destructive, and rarely barks. Heâs very easy to walk on leash and enjoys a relaxed pace. Plus, he's a big fan of dinner and treatsâ¦his eyes light up at mealtime! If you're looking for a quiet, affectionate companion who loves naps, snacks, and simple joys, Wesley might be your perfect match. Come meet this gentle sweetheart, you just might fall in love

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
