Originally brought to us as a stray, it took several days before he trusted us enough to even leave his kennel. With lots of love, patience, and TLC, he has blossomed into a truly extraordinary dog. Pacer’s favorite thing in the world? The pool! He’ll dive in any chance he gets and loves splashing around before racing through the yard with his zoomies. He also enjoys going for walks, giving kisses, and soaking up time with the people he trusts. His bright blue eyes, contagious smile, and goofy personality make him impossible not to love. Every day, Pacer grows more confident meeting new people, and we know he’s going to make an incredible companion for the right family. Overview:
The Siberian Husky is a striking and beloved breed, originating from Northeast Asia where they were bred by the Chukchi people for pulling sleds over long distances in harsh conditions. Physically, they are easily recognizable by their medium size, thick double coat (available in various colors and markings), and often captivating blue or bi-colored eyes. Their temperament is typically friendly, outgoing, and playful, making them generally good with children and other dogs. However, their independent and sometimes stubborn nature, coupled with a strong prey drive, means consistent training and secure containment are essential. While affectionate, their high energy levels and need for significant exercise make them less suitable for sedentary lifestyles or tiny apartments; a house with a securely fenced yard is often preferred. Health-wise, they are generally robust but can be prone to certain conditions like hip and elbow dysplasia and eye problems such as cataracts and progressive retinal atrophy.
