Description
Dog Breed: Collie (long coat). Meet Vino! Vino is a happy, affectionate boy with a heart as big as his smile! If you're looking for a loyal companion who wants to be by your side through all of life's adventures, Vino may be your perfect match. Vino was born November 5, 2021. This smart guy knows an impressive list of commands, including sit, stay, wait, down, paw, spin, come, "go potty," "go to sleep," and "move over." He loves learning and enjoys working with his people. Vino is happiest when he's spending time with his family. Whether it's playing a game of fetch, going for a walk, taking a car ride, or simply relaxing at home, he's always ready to be part of the fun. He has plenty of energy for playtime but also loves curling up on a soft, cozy bed for a nap. One of Vino's greatest qualities is how well he gets along with everyone. He loves adults, children, other dogs, and even cats, making him a wonderful fit for many different families. He's also a pleasure to walk, rides beautifully in the car, and has excellent house manners. While he prefers being near his people, he's also comfortable staying home alone during the workday when needed. Vino does have environmental or food allergies that are easily managed. He eats Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Hydrolyzed food and takes a daily Apoquel tablet to keep his skin healthy and comfortable. Taking his medication is a breeze! Occasionally he may lick his paws, but a simple reminder is usually all it takes to redirect him. Vino is the complete package: intelligent, affectionate, well-mannered, and eager to be your best friend. If you're looking for a loving companion who will happily accompany you wherever life takes you—and then snuggle up beside you at the end of the day—Vino is waiting to meet you! Could Vino be the newest member of your family? Apply today and come meet this wonderful boy! ❤️ If you are interested in rescuing a collie, please complete this short adoption questionnaire. Overview:
The Collie, a majestic and intelligent breed, originates from Scotland where they were primarily used for herding sheep. Known for their striking beauty, Collies typically possess a long, flowing double coat that comes in a variety of colors including sable and white, tricolor, and blue merle. They have a graceful, athletic build, with a distinctive long muzzle and expressive eyes. In terms of temperament, Collies are renowned for being incredibly loyal, gentle, and highly trainable, making them excellent companions. Their affectionate nature makes them particularly well-suited for families with children, though their need for moderate exercise means they thrive in homes with yards, rather than cramped apartment living. While generally a healthy breed, potential owners should be aware of a predisposition to certain conditions like Collie Eye Anomaly (CEA) and drug sensitivities. With proper care and training, a Collie will enrich any household with their devoted companionship and bright personality.
