Description
Dog Breed: Yorkshire Terrier Yorkie / Mixed. Meet Petal! Petal is a sweet, playful little girl with a fun personality. She loves playing with her foster brother and sister and is always happy to chase toys around the house. When playtime is over, she’s just as happy curling up beside you for snuggles and soaking up attention. She’s still building her confidence and has the cutest quirks—she’s convinced the dog she sees in the mirror is real and is adorably scared of her own reflection! Despite being a little timid with new things, she continues to gain confidence every day. Petal is doing well in her crate, is mostly potty trained, and is making great progress with leash walking. She has a gentle, affectionate nature and is looking for a family that will continue to help her blossom into the wonderful companion she’s becoming. She is spayed, microchipped, dewormed, and current with all vaccines (as appropriate for her age) and on flea and heartworm prevention. Petal is currently being fostered in South Carolina. ADOPT PETAL!! .LuckyPupRescueSC The adoption fee is $375.00 and we require a vet check and home visit.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
