I’m one of six lucky pups rescued with our sweet mama, Lady, after we were abandoned at a church in Young Harris — a place where pets are sadly left behind too often. Safe Pet Project came to our rescue just a few days later, and now we’re safe, loved, and ready for forever homes! I’m a black‑and‑white girl, about 2–4 months old, roughly the size of a big cat, and I’ve already had my first round of vaccines. My first vet visit is scheduled for July 9, 2026, and I’m growing fast. Folks think I might be a mix of Lab, Terrier, and maybe a little Spaniel, which means I’ll be smart, loyal, and full of personality. I love exploring, sniffing everything, and playing with my brothers and sisters — Brownie, Lemon, Blondie, Chunky, and Spot. I’m a curious little pup who’s always ready to learn and love. My $150 adoption fee includes all core puppy vaccines, spay/neuter, and microchip — everything I need to start my new life healthy and happy! A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
