Description
Dog Breed: Siberian Husky (medium coat). Meet Blue, our girl who has been waiting for someone to truly see her. At just 1 year old and 61 pounds she has so much love to give but shelter life hasn't been easy on her. She was adopted once, only to be returned after struggling to adjust in her new home. What Blue is looking for isn't perfection it's patience. She absolutely loves being outdoors and would do best as an outdoor dog. Whether it's exploring a trail, soaking up the sunshine, or simply spending outside, that's where she shines brightest. She would thrive with an active, adventurous family who enjoys hiking, long walks or just letting her enjoy the fresh air by your side. Blue has had positive interactions with other dogs. Every dog deserves someone willing to look past her past and believe in her future. We know her perfect match is out there someone who will give her the time, understanding and love she's been waiting for. Could that be you? Visit us and come meet this sweet girl. Your next adventure might just begin with her.

Siberian Husky
A.K.A.: Husky, Arctic Husky, Chukcha, Chukchi, Chukchi Sled Dog, Sibe, Sibes, Sled Dog, Snow Dog
Overview:
The Siberian Husky is a striking and beloved breed, originating from Northeast Asia where they were bred by the Chukchi people for pulling sleds over long distances in harsh conditions. Physically, they are easily recognizable by their medium size, thick double coat (available in various colors and markings), and often captivating blue or bi-colored eyes. Their temperament is typically friendly, outgoing, and playful, making them generally good with children and other dogs. However, their independent and sometimes stubborn nature, coupled with a strong prey drive, means consistent training and secure containment are essential. While affectionate, their high energy levels and need for significant exercise make them less suitable for sedentary lifestyles or tiny apartments; a house with a securely fenced yard is often preferred. Health-wise, they are generally robust but can be prone to certain conditions like hip and elbow dysplasia and eye problems such as cataracts and progressive retinal atrophy. Overall, a Siberian Husky thrives with active families committed to meeting their exercise and mental stimulation needs.
