Our listed dogs ARE READY IMMEDIATELY; we only meet with families WHO ARE READY TO ADOPT! IF YOU APPLY and if WE APPROVE YOU it means we are assuming when you meet any of our dogs and fall in love you're ready to ADOPT AND HIM OR HER HOME! Meet Adeline — though her new family is certainly welcome to rename her if they choose! This sweet, affectionate girl has quickly proven herself to be an easy, adaptable companion with a wonderful balance of playful puppy energy and an easygoing personality. Adeline is both food and toy motivated, making her a joy to train. She especially loves playing tug and will happily do just about anything for a tasty treat. Frozen Kongs and blueberries are among her favorite snacks! She is eager to please, highly handler-focused, and has shown great resilience and recovery when faced with new experiences. If something makes her uncertain, a little encouragement and a treat are usually all she needs to regain her confidence. Socially, Adeline is fantastic. She is playful and neutral with both large and small dogs and especially loves a good game of chase. Her current best friend is a Boston Terrier named Meatball, and the two spend much of their day happily racing around together. She has also done very well with cats, showing curiosity while remaining respectful and appropriate. While Adeline certainly has typical puppy enthusiasm, she settles nicely in the house after just 10–15 minutes of exercise. We would describe her as medium energy with a lower drive level rather than a high-octane working dog. She would thrive in an active home and could be a wonderful candidate for beginner dog sports such as Fast CAT or even dock diving. Although she hasn’t had the opportunity to swim yet, she definitely appears intrigued by water. Adeline has already made tremendous progress in a short period of time. When she first arrived, she was hesitant about getting into the car, but after only a few days she now hops right in with confidence. She is doing very well with both crate training and potty training and has been an all-around superstar with handling. Nail trims, baths, ear cleaning, veterinary visits—none of these phases her. In fact, she was an absolute rock star at the veterinary clinic and hasn’t met a stranger yet. Everyone she meets is simply another potential friend to love on! She has recently been introduced to cows and chickens and chose to keep a respectful distance while continuing to play and explore. Loud noises and new environments have also been handled well. Adeline would benefit from continued positive exposure to new places and experiences, and with additional public outings, she is likely to become an exceptionally confident, well-rounded companion. Curious, affectionate, eager to learn, and always ready for fun, Adeline is the kind of puppy who will make a wonderful addition to a family looking for a loving best friend and adventure buddy. Overview:
The Australian Shepherd, despite its name, actually originated in the western United States during the 19th century, bred primarily for herding livestock on ranches. These striking dogs are medium-sized with a sturdy build, often sporting captivating merle coats (blue or red) and piercing blue, amber, or marbled eyes, sometimes with two different colors (heterochromia). Known for their exceptional intelligence and high energy, Aussies possess a strong work drive and thrive on having a "job" to do, whether it's agility, obedience, or extensive exercise. Their temperament is generally loyal, affectionate, and good-natured with their families, though they can be reserved with strangers. Due to their high exercise requirements and need for mental stimulation, they are best suited for active families or individuals with ample outdoor space and a commitment to training; apartment living is generally not ideal. Potential owners should also be aware of common health concerns like hip and elbow dysplasia and certain eye conditions, including Collie Eye Anomaly (CEA) and Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA).
