A 3.5 lb, 4 year old Yorkie who steals the hearts of everyone he meets. This handsome little guy was found wandering as a stray, but he has officially traded the solo street life for the cozy couch life. Casey has started to blossom in his foster home and makes it known every single day just how thrilled he is to be part of a family. He is the perfect mix of fun and affection. Casey has a wonderfully playful spirit, whether he’s chasing a toy, wrestling with his foster Dad or showing off his goofy happy-dance. Once playtime is over, his absolute favorite place to be is right on your lap, soaking up all the love and head scratches he can get. Casey is working on potty training and eating on a consistent schedule. Due to his time as a stray, he is underweight and needs to pack on some pounds before he can have his dental procedure. For that reason, he will be available for adoption in mid-August. Little Casey can't wait to start reviewing applications for his forever home! Casey is staying with Matt and Sarah in Mohnton, PA.

A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
