Description
Dog Breed: Poodle (unknown type) / Mixed. At 4 years old and 43 pounds, Liberty is the perfect medium-sized dog and truly as cute as they come. She recently arrived from the shelter and is just beginning to settle into foster care, so we're still learning more about her personality as she decompresses and adjusts to her new surroundings. So far, Liberty has been a sweet girl taking all of life's recent changes in stride. Leaving the shelter behind is a big transition, and she deserves the time and patience to feel safe, comfortable, and loved again. As she settles in, we're excited to watch her personality emerge and share more about what makes her special. What we already know is that Liberty is looking for the one thing every dog deserves: a forever home. With her adorable face, perfect size, and fresh start ahead of her, we can't wait to see her find the family she's been waiting for.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
