Description
Dog Breed: Cane Corso Mastiff / Mixed. Meet Bubbie (Currently at the Hesperia Animal Shelter in Southern California) Bubbie is a 3-year-old, 75-pound goofball with a playful personality and a heart full of love. After being found as a stray, he was briefly adopted but returned the very next day because his adopter felt he was "too much dog." We believe Bubbie simply wasn't given the chance he deserved. Like many young, active dogs, Bubbie can be an escape artist and will need a secure yard, structure, and plenty of exercise. He's currently underweight, has a cherry eye, and shelter life is starting to take a toll on him. Bubbie is up to date on his vaccines and deworming and is ready to find a family that will see his potential, not just his challenges. Give this sweet, goofy boy the second chance he's been waiting for.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
