Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. Hey there! My name is Lani, and I'm a spunky and sweet little lady looking for my forever home. I'm a petite package of fun and I'm a delightful mix of Jack Russell Terrier and Chihuahua. That means I'm smart, curious, and have a whole lot of love to give! I enjoy exploring my surroundings and have a playful spirit. I'm also quite the cuddler and would happily snuggle up on the couch with you after a fun day of adventures. I'm still learning some of my manners, so someone patient and kind who can continue my training would be just wonderful. I'm eager to please and learn new things! If you're looking for a loyal and entertaining companion to brighten your days, maybe I'm the one for you! I can't wait to meet my special someone. Could it be you? Excited to find your new family member at Wags and Whiskers? Our pets are vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed/neutered. Many come from unknown backgrounds, so please consider the 10+ year commitment. Schedule an appointment today! Call 530-895-8888. We don't offer holds; pets can be adopted anytime. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
