Description
Dog Breed: Chihuahua (short coat). Adoption Fee: 350.00. Chihuahua Spayed Female Meet Tigger! She is one of the momma's to the T'puppies. She is very sweet and snuggly. She loves rubbing her belly in the grass on her walks. She is crate trained and will happily spend the night crated, although she’d prefer to dive under the covers and guard your feet through the wee hours. She has a bit of hair loss that came from an over infestation of fleas. Now that she has weaned the puppies we are hoping that it begins to grow back in. She walks nicely on a leash even though she is not overly interested in physical pursuits. Tigger is 98% housebroken. She is smart, loving, and does well with the other dogs at her foster home. Tigger is being fostered in Shippensburg, PA. If you don't have an approved adoption application and want to be considered for them, you will want to apply online at homewardbound2u.rescuegroups (our application does not load well on phones. You should do this on a tablet or computer.). If you are already approved, you can TEXT ONLY the foster mom at 7176584567 Let her know what name and email address your application is filed under. Do not schedule a meeting to see the puppy unless you are prepared to complete the adoption and take the puppy home if everyone agrees that it is a match.

Overview:
The Chihuahua, a captivating breed known for its diminutive size, boasts an ancient and somewhat mysterious origin, with most theories pointing to Mexico as its birthplace, potentially descending from the "Techichi," a small companion dog of the Toltec civilization. Physically, they are easily recognizable by their small, compact bodies, large expressive eyes, and erect ears, appearing in both smooth and long-coated varieties, showcasing a vast array of colors and markings. Despite their tiny stature, Chihuahuas possess a big personality; they are often described as spirited, alert, and fiercely loyal to their owners, sometimes displaying a bold and confident demeanor. While their small size makes them exceptionally well-suited for apartment living, they thrive in homes where they receive ample attention and mental stimulation. They can be good family pets for older children who understand how to interact gently with a small dog, but their delicate build makes them less suitable for boisterous toddlers. Regarding health, Chihuahuas can be prone to certain conditions like patellar luxation, heart problems, and dental issues, making regular veterinary check-ups crucial for their well-being.
