Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Terrier / Mixed. Chip is an adorable 11-week-old puppy weighing in at 8 pounds, and he'll be ready for adoption on July 7th! This sweet little guy loves playing with toys just as much as he loves cuddling on the couch after a fun day. He's doing great with crate training and is already learning to let you know when he needs to go outside. Like most puppies his age, Chip is still working on his puppy manners, including occasional puppy nipping, but with consistent training and patience, he'll quickly outgrow this phase. Chip gets along wonderfully with other dogs and young children. He hasn't been introduced to cats yet, but at his young age, he has plenty of time to learn to live with feline friends. Chip will be neutered on July 6th and is up to date on all of his vaccinations. He'll be ready to find his forever family on or after July 7th, 2026 thru Paws Across Pittsburgh KL#16182

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
